Construction Begins
In October, Morgal broke ground on the latest expansion to the South Yellow Springs Street manufacturing facility. This expansion will add 19,000 square feet of manufacturing space as well as 460 square feet of reception / office space. The expansion is a result of strong growth in the pulley and automotive markets.
Jim McGregor, President of Morgal Machine, Ohio Stamping and Machine, and Rose City Manufacturing says "This addition will enable us to expand our split steel pulley manufacturing operation by providing the space to develop manufacturing cells. These cells will allow Morgal to reduce processing costs and lead-times, in order to maintain a competitive edge with domestic as well as offshore pulley manufacturers."
The additional space will also allow Morgal to consolidate some of the warehousing space currently leased, off-site for the automotive business. Jim says, "We feel very fortunate to be expanding due to increased volumes at a time when many manufacturers are downsizing or closing their doors."
This expansion is the eighth expansion at this facility and will increase the building size to 104,500 square feet. Completion of the addition is estimated in spring of 2004.
